IKEA delivery truck drags a huge boulder onto I-205 Portland

PORTLAND – A commercial semi-truck driver dragged a huge boulder from IKEA to I-205 Saturday and he didn’t even realize it was there, police said.

A landscaper alerted police after following large scrape marks all the way from the Cascade Station IKEA store to the freeway, and then spotting the truck with the boulder still under it.

“Officers believe the driver of the truck had gone the wrong way around the turn-around to make a delivery at IKEA. In the process the trailer drove over the landscaping and his rear axle picked up the boulder and began dragging it along as he drove,” said Lt. Robert King with the Portland Police Bureau. “The driver apparently did not know he was dragging a huge boulder. “

The boulder damaged the undercarriage of the truck, which eventually caused the driver to stop on the freeway.

“Thankfully, the boulder did not dislodge into another lane of traffic causing an accident,” King said. “The investigation revealed the driver may have been sleep-deprived.”

Oregon State Police performed a commercial truck inspection and logbook investigation and the results were pending.

Is Myspace making a comeback with Justin Timberlake behind the reigns??

Looks like Justin Timberlake is the new creative strategist for Myspace. This could probably be the only good thing for Myspace, as they have been on a downward spiral for quite some time now. In fact, the last article I read a few months back, was that Myspace had lost a MILLION users in ONE MONTH! It’s no wonder News Corp. seemed desperate to sell off Myspace for $35 million when it had purchased it for $580 million back in 2005.

Anyway, since Myspace bought my beloved Imeem, I really hope they can become what Imeem once was (a paradise for music lovers). Justin Timberlake better have some good ideas circulating!

RIP Macho Man Randy Savage

Wow… one of the greatest wrestling stars of all time has passed away today. Macho Man Randy Savage, 58, was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler this morning in Tampa, Florida when he supposedly suffered a heart attack behind the wheel and then veered across a concrete median in on-coming traffic, tragically ending head-on with a tree. His wife was a passenger and survived with “minor injuries”.

The Macho Man will definitely be missed, and will long be remembered as one of the best wrestling stars of all time. “Ohhhhhhh yeeeeeaaaah!”

Batman is arrested!

I think it’s awesome when we have masked vigilantes, much like our Phoenix Jones here in the Northwest. However, I’m not so sure about this batman. I mean, his costume isn’t very elaborate, and he’s got pit stains… o_O Would you be intimidated by this guy if you were a criminal?? It kinda reminds me of the video clip Read about how he got arrested below.

DETROIT — A man dressed as Batman was arrested on Wednesday after police in a small Michigan town found him hanging off the side of a building and carrying concealed weapons including a baton and a can of chemical irritant spray.

Police in Petoskey, in northwest Michigan, received a call reporting that a man dressed as Batman, a comic book hero and the subject of a number of blockbuster movies, was on the roof of a building in the center of the town of about 6,000 people.

Officers found Mark Wayne Williams, 31, hanging off the western wall of the building. They pulled him back onto the roof and found he was carrying the baton, spray and a pair of lead-lined gloves.

Williams was charged with several counts of carrying concealed weapons, one count of carrying a gas-ejecting weapon and another count of creating a disturbance, said John Calabrese, public safety chief in Petoskey.

“He really didn’t offer us any explanation,” Calabrese said when asked why Williams was in costume. “Our officers did not interrogate him at any length.”

Calabrese said it was not the first time Williams has appeared in public in costume. A few years ago, he caught the attention of police by dressing as the Crow, a figure from a graphic novel.

Well first, Georges St. Pierre must beat Jake Shields tonight in UFC 129, and I’ve already got my dibs on GSP winning by TKO in the 3rd round, referee stoppage. If GSP wins this fight, he’ll have to move up in weight to face Anderson Silva. Definitely a fight of the decade right there!

The ‘Bed Intruder’ Star Arrested
