Get your tickets now! “Deep Green” has it’s world premiere here in Portland on June 22, 2010 at the Bagdad Theater. It’s a documentary that has been in the works for over 3 years, which brings to light an urgent situation related to our ecosystem. The documentary shows us how to decrease our carbon footprint by being aware of our resources and thinking in terms of reusable energy. I had a chance to meet briefly with the Director-Writer-Producer, Matt Briggs, and he is a very positive and friendly person. His profound knowledge on the subject matter leave me with no doubt that this will be a very informative and fantastic documentary. I am pretty excited to see this and will probably grab my tickets asap!

by dezak on May.12, 2010, under Cool, Funny, News

It appears that Japan’s job market is somewhat distressed as ours. With the influx of laid off workers over the past few years, there is a huge applicant pool where the competition is super high. Some people are starting to be creative, much like Mr. Yu Osumi from Japan, whom puts himself up for auction on one of Japan’s biggest online auction services. His auction listing is titled “Priority Interview Rights for the Transfer of the Personal Business of ‘Yu Osumi.’”

What do people fear more than death??

by dezak on May.08, 2010, under Art, Cool

Many common fears are heights, enclosed spaces, water, snakes, public speaking, and death. But what’s the most common fear?? Spiders! I am one of an arachnophobe myself and have been played pranks on numerous times. Remember though, “It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye.” Here is a wonderful short film called “Spider” by Nash Edgerton & David Michôd.

Chatroulette with Ben Folds Five

by dezak on Apr.04, 2010, under Celebrity, Cool, Funny, Music

I’ve never done this chatroulette before, but thought this video was absolutely clever. Here, Ben Folds Five is performing in front of a live crowd while unsuspecting chatters connect. Very amusing, especially with the guy on the john.

Holiday in Australia

by tuesday tony on Apr.03, 2010, under Cool

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS FIRST BEFORE LOOKING AT PICTURE

Family on holiday in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mum and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the ‘OK’ hand sign to see if he was all right.

The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they got back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why he said ‘there was a shark behind you.’ The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn’t believe him. As soon as they got back to the hotel they loaded the picture onto the laptop and this is what they saw.

shark

(Try and tell me you wouldn’t have emptied your Entire digestive system right at the point you saw it)

Would you have stayed to take the picture??

Maybe what saved them was that the shark wasn’t hungry, they were in the water not on the surface, and there was no fear coming from them – only because they were not aware. Probably better that the kid didn’t point for them to look behind them.
